Chiffon

Chiffon is the French word for cloth, and is a lightweight woven fabric, usually made from silk or nylon, somewhat stretchable and slightly rough to the touch. It is commonly used in elegant dresses because of the flowing appearance of chiffon, but it is also popular for blouses and lingerie. Chiffon frays very easily because of its delicate nature, so gentle hand washing is recommended.
