Oversoul - promotional photoTrach associates with Justin Sich (guitars) in the summer of 2000. The duo finally grew into a three-piece instrumental band when Wade Trach (drums) joined the band one year later.

The first era of the band ended with the departure of Sich in winter 2006, ending a five year creative phase that resulted in numerous compositions. While both Trach’s continued to play together and stayed in amiable contact with Sich, the band was effectively on hold during that time.

This hibernation phase was just a short one though, and Oversoul was soon to be revived, this time as a full and complete band. Starting with the recruiting of singer Justin Toffan as lead vocalist by Aaron Trach himself in 2006, followed by guitarist Cory Mydonick and bassist Colin Heskin in 2007. Mydonick's stay with the band was a fairly short one, as he left the band on amiable terms in 2008, to be replaced by Nathan Grayston, who completed the final and current line-up of Oversoul.

The band defines its music with the words “self analysis, apprehension and perception” but these are mere examples of the list of words that come to mind when trying to figure the meaning behind Oversoul’s music.

Personally, I think these words match the music well, and the band reminds me a lot of younger Paradise Lost, there are elements of doom and sorrow in their music, yet innovative optimism, it is fresh and exciting, and I am impatient to hear their first full length album, which the band is currently recording.
